From the Lakes to the Mountains
Born and raised in London, Ontario, I was privileged to spend my teenage years on the shore of Lake Huron.
My sense of adventure began at a young age and I began taking photos under the guidance of my grandfather, developing black and white film in his basement darkroom. Not long after I was studying photojournalism at Loyalist College in Belleville, Ontario and I soon realized I could use my camera as a way to travel and explore Canada and the world. Internships on the East Coast at the Halifax Chronicle Herald and at the Ottawa Citizen led me to a staff position in the heart of the Canadian Rockies at papers in Canmore, Banff and Jasper.
I immediately fell in love with the mountain lifestyle and took my camera everywhere I went: the ski hill, bike trails, hiking, camping and road trips. I started covering wildlife stories with park wardens, and my appreciation for wildlife and the mountains grew.
Fast forward a few years and after travelling throughout New Zealand, Australia, Myanmar, Finland and Iceland I am happy to now call Revelstoke my home for over ten years.
